I have been to California on many occasions. Here are just some recent highlights.
2015 trip with Tracy
I took my son to California for his first time in 2018. For spring break 2018, Camren flew to Arizona and met up with me; and then we flew to California. We spent four days in the Los Angeles area; visiting Disneyland and the Disney California Adventure Park.
We then flew To San Francisco and spent four more days. As we drove into downtown San Francisco, we spotted Alcatraz Island and drove down the curvy part of Lombard Street. After getting settled into our hotel and having dinner on Beach Street, we stopped into Ripley's Believe It or Not. The next day, we visited Alcatraz Island, with Alcatraz Cruises, and also visited Pier 39.
Because of rain, we were not able to do a tandem hang gliding lesson for myself with Big Air Hang Gliding (so that will have to saved for another trip). Instead, we visited The San Francisco Dungeon,
Madame Tussauds,
and the 7D Experience.
The next day, we visited and drove over the Golden Gate Bridge. We then walked by Ghirardelli Square
and rode the Powell-Hyde Cable Car to get us part way to a San Francisco Giants game.

My dad and I returned to California on Friday for Labor Day weekend 2018. We flew to LAX and stayed in downtown Los Angeles at the Indigo Hotel. On Friday, we walked around downtown LA. We visited OUE Skyspace, Pershing Square, Angels Flight Railway, the Bradbury Building, Pico House, Union Station, Olvera Street, Avila Adobe (oldest existing house in LA), and Chinatown.
We then visited Dodger Stadium and watched the Dodgers play the Arizona Diamondbacks.
On Saturday, we took a tour and visited Hollywood, the Walk of Fame, and Griffith Park; where we viewed The Hollywood Sign. The tour then showed us downtown LA and stopped at the Disney Concert Hall. After driving past LAX airport, the tour stopped at Marina del Rey, drove by Venice Beach, and stopped in Santa Monica. We also stopped at the La Brea Tar Pits and the Urban Light assemblage sculpture. We then had lunch at the Farmers Market in the Fairfax District, and continued the tour by driving Sunset Strip, Bel Air, and making a couple of stops in Beverly Hills including Rodeo Drive.
Also on Saturday, we watched the LA Dodgers play another game against the Diamondbacks.
On Sunday, we took a VIP tour at Universal Studios.

My son and I attended a software convention (TUG) in June of 2023 in Palm Desert California. It was held at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa.
